Learn to live

by libby   Nov 14, 2005

They walk in
Smelling of cigarettes and pez
Baby dolls who want to be older
Torn down beauty
Lives across the street
They don't even try to know her

Some things
Are best left unrevealed
But the fortune teller
Will never tell you that
Learn to live
Off what you give yourself
Since you can't learn the lessons
By looking somewhere else

Pop tart sweetheart
With an attitude
She always speaks too loud
Honey, don't you think
We're always going to listen
Half the time we tune you out

Some things
Are best when left unsaid
But so many people
Will never tell you that
Learn to live
Off what you say inside
Cause that's the only place
That they can't tell you lies

Hair dye darling
Pink stains on her soul
Can she ever get away?
When her roots grow in
She'll have to dye them back again
Perfection never stays

Some things
Are best when left unchanged
But the reformist
Will never tell you that
Learn to live
As who you really are
Cause you'll just run out of gas
If you try to drive too far

This poem has a great message and I really wish that more people could realize how great. Its impressive, thought provoking, and beautifully written.
