Elements of Our Love

by Bill Turner   Nov 14, 2005

Looking skyward searching the heavens
Billions of stars hover peering down on earth
Each star holds someone's hopes and dreams
Gazing into your eyes I see mine looking back at me
All I will ever need comes with your love given free

The sound of water falling from the clouds
Cleansing all that it touches on its journey to the sea
Is the sound of new beginnings as well as a goodbye to what was
Our bodies submerged in water that is steaming hot
Finding within each other all we ever sought

Flames dancing wildly giving off intense heat
Bathing you in an ever changing light
Gold and orange reflecting in your eyes
Holding you I see that seductive smile
As we kiss I know we will be here a while

A gentle breeze blows back your soft hair
Cold and crisp it brings a natural color to your skin
Slightly chilled we huddle together
Our hands searching for some warm skin
Our lips finding one another yet again

Mother earth wraps herself around us
As we lay on this hillside watching the clouds
Casting shadows that chill and shapes that delight
We lay here in this fall sun and realize
The world is better through each others eyes

These are the elements of our love
Everyday is an adventure for us
Everything old has become new again
I feel it will be this way for life
Starting anew as we become husband and wife
