Lesson In Love

Giving your heart to another,
Is the easiest thing you'll do.
Trusting them to not break it,
Is the part that will hinder you.

I never did give all of my heart,
To any of the lovers in my past.
Ambivalent of crossing that line,
Fearing their love wouldn't last.

Since those days I have learned,
For love you have to gamble it all.
Dreams of love cannot come true,
If you are reluctant to take the fall.

When fate brought you into my life,
I decided for once I'd take a chance.
Looking back I realize that had I not,
I'd have missed one beautiful dance.

You gave me strength and courage,
You were honest right from the start.
There was just something about you,
That said you'd take care of my heart.

Before you I'd never known happiness,
Never knew a man like you could exist.
You have taught me so much darling,
You're the love my heart cannot resist.
