Shredded Wings of a Broken Butterfly

** ~ know it's long but it means so much to me.....

there was a girl
different from the rest
struggling through life
the biggest test

ignored for being different
"friends" stabbed her behind her back
they treated her horribly
and ran her life off track

they threw things at her
when she wasn't paying attention
stuck signs on her back
that not even a teacher would mention

the girl grew tired
sick of going threw this pain
she knew if she tried something different
things would still be the exact same

she's carved into her skin
every time she's felt like a fool
she even carved a butterfly
to remind her she'd never be that beautiful

they've hurt her
in every possible way
they broke her heart
and shredded her growing wings

one day they went to far
they locked her in the closet
another cruel game
because they knew she'd loose it

days past......

no one knew where she was
they searched everywhere
the kids ran into the closet
the girl was looking at them with a blank stare

she was dead..........

they didn't know what to do
it was just a game
they found a note in her hand
hoping they would live in misery

with guilt for what they've done.....

but you see, that girl was gorgeous
and she was very sweet
but people didn't stop to wonder
to actually stop and think

they killed that girl
and her scars told the story
they made her struggle
shattered her heart...that broken girl

they shredded the wings of a growing butterfly.....

she was a good student
she was nice to everyone
she even had her own life planned
but that ended when the bullies wanted to have fun

they stole her life
and a part of mine
you see this girl
was my best friend

and i wish i could take something dear to them away...but all i can do is cry...
