A Plea For Absolution

by Steve   Nov 15, 2005

Absence makes the heart grow fonder
The ironic cliche rings through my weary head
Alone and confused, through memories I wander
And try to make sense of everything you said

The good times with you made my life complete
I will treasure the perfect memories you gave me
But I will not admit defeat
I will love again, that I guarantee

One day I will wake up from this nightmare
Find someone to give my broken heart to
She will pick up the pieces, and put them back together with care
And when she tells me she loves me, this time it will be true

In a world full of misery, famine and death
Find someone to give your precious heart to
And treasure that person with every breath
Because one day they might not be the person you thought you knew

And on that day, do not lose hope
Even though it feels like hope will never return
You will find the strength inside you to cope
For now, let your soul move on and learn
