Aging

by Rachael   Nov 17, 2005

The memories rushed back like a flood.
They were gone, but never forgotten.
The vast emptiness inside her
was all she had been left with.
The endless joking,
The heartwarming smile,
The selfless actions
Gradually turned to looks of confusion,
Incoherent rambling,
Failing health,
Signing of papers...
The end of a life.
With age comes wisdom
With age comes death...
With time comes understanding
With time comes acceptance.

I wrote this about my grandma...I guess the idea was to portray the more realistic side of life and death...
