Melancholy

by Rachael   Nov 17, 2005

The sun peaks through the clouds
And its glare distorts my vision.
Another day begins
But you're still not by my side.
The bitter wind whips through the windows.
My longing is ever-present.
A melancholy expression is all I seem to wear.
I drive past all the familiar places
But the joy is no longer there.
I act every day as if I'm okay
But you're always on my mind.
If it's true what they say
That there's life after death,
Then one sweet day I'll see your face
And my heart will love again.
