History Class Condensed To 5 Stanzas

by Renee   Nov 17, 2005

So I've got an hour to write to you how I feel,
while this old lady spews history in my ear.
She's speaking of some ancient indian tribe,
as I tap my pen on the side of the desk, wondering...
well just wandering around in my mind.

You wouldn't beleive how off beat my feet are,
as I stomp melodies to drown the ruffles of paper.
And those whispers and chuckles are getting so old,
"Your -mom- (insert repeated phrase)..
Wow, now that's cold.

I wish I could beat the stares with this half bitten pencil,
of the kid sitting right next to m.
He's got bad B-O, and I swear that he's stoned,
and he keeps dropping his pen at my feet.

Old lady, why must you wake me from my peaceful slumber?
I was in the middle of dream sequence 50 -and-some-odd-number.
yes, the one where hot chick from P.E steps out the shower
and...man, it's already 45 past the hour?

Move old lady, so I can see what nonesense you wrote.
I lost your stupid book and I'm not paying, I'm flat broke.
I don't know why you have so much hate, but I've got a hunch..
F#ck this, I'm going to lunch.

I didn't like school very much, thanks for reminding me why, lol. Sometimes the teachers just go on and on about nothing that refers to the topic and they wonder why kids flunk or drop out. Lunch was my favorite time of day too. But anyway, I like how you turned your boredom into an awesome and creative write.....

This made me laugh...and sad, because I fear it's true, your history class sucks, but you make it fun to read about...You can sense your boredom and the "I don't care" feeling in it. I'm not sure this comment is suitable for the poem, so sorry if I'm off course with this, it was a great poem and I loved it, that's what I'm trying to say. xxx

    Much love,
