I Love and Hate You

I love you because
You were the one that showed me
That genuine love really existed in life,
And not just in fairytales.

I hate you because
You also showed me that love is like fire
It may look stunning and feel divine
By giving you that pleasant feeling inside,
But from a distance
If gotten too close to it,
It can be an overdose and end up burning,
Leaving a scare that can leave you mourning.

I love you because
With you I found an incredible feeling
Deep and pure, within every kiss given
An astonishing wave of passion is felt,
That I had never experienced before.

I hate you because
You told me that you loved me,
And would never leave me,
When really, you were just using me like a toy,
All you wanted was to enjoy,
Yourself for a while.

I love and hate you because
The love I feel for you is like the ocean
Big, everlasting, beautiful,
But with each unbearable surprise it holds
Tears are shed, hearts are broken,
That soon turns into
A devastating storm.
