Through their eyes (special ed)

by Amber Gail   Nov 18, 2005

God please explain to me
why people act this way.
Taking everything for granted
instead of feeling lucky today

Life would be such a wonderful thing
if they would just see what i see
i see many eyes of beautiful angels
smiling back at me

A girl with burn marks all over her body
has the prettiest smile anyone has seen
but the smile is soon wiped away
because they kids at school were mean

They all called her ugly names
and she walked away and cried
but no matter how hurt she was
I could still see the sparkle in her eye

The autistic kids all around the world
are the bravest of them all
Many people start to give up on them
but they get right back up after they fall

The sadness of a deaf boys cry
is the most painful noise to my ear
you laugh and point and call him names
he knows what you are saying, even if he cannot hear

But yet he still remains so strong
Smiling throughout the day
Even though deep inside he's hurt
and the pain he feels just wont go away

Next time you think you've got it the worst
sorry to tell you, but you're wrong
the kids i see everyday of my life
feel so weak yet they act so strong

Be thankful for what you have
other have a much harder life
they are the most grateful people in the world
but their life is full of so much strife

Please don't laugh or call them names
they have feeling just like you and i
no matter what disability they have
I can see the beauty through their eyes
