It's Me

by rachel   Nov 18, 2005

Off the shores of my soul sits the one who claims to know all
On a square rock, with no corners, she tries hard not to fall
She strokes the gloomy waters with one outstretched hand
Waves crash all about her and all power she commands
But she's drowning, I do see, without a place to go
And as I stare in horror she speaks to let me know

"Don't cry little one I'm not the one you need.
Hold the bosom close and on the nourishment feed.
Bring your problems forward and tell me all your cries.
Because in you is where I am and inside is all the lies."

She dropped her head and then came tears on her sad face
when she looks up, only this time, just a few moments space
My mouth is wide open yet there is no sound to be
For when she looked up, I found the loathsome me
And when she goes under she tries to do some good
But I know in my heart it's something that no one could
