Unencumbered Story

by Dwain   Dec 17, 2003

Smoke rising from the devil's cigar
The brilliant shine of a distant star
Feelings stirred, always bizarre
This is the story so far

His love undeclared
Your emotions ensnared
No feelings left spared
This is the story they shared

Inside your protective mold
Things he revealed were bold
Your feelings still controlled
This is the story you told

He wishes that the tide
Would swallow his pride
At once brushed aside
This is the story that died

Everything you needed to hear
He left sitting in your ear
Maybe words will persevere
This is the story of the year

As a lowlife
He thought in strife
Of his "storybook" life
This was the story of his life
