Letting go

All I've ever wanted
is love and honesty
I can't seem to find
someone to give that to me
All I get are lies
and my insides torn apart
I can't stand the hurt
that weighs upon my heart
my head begs me to leave
my heart screams for me to stay
I know I can't live like this
no matter what you say
my mood is so despairing
my happiness is all gone
my eyes always full of tears
my heart begets no song
what has become
of the woman I used to be
always full of smiles
with a heart wild and free
perhaps she's hiding
somewhere deep within my soul
waiting to resurface
when I finally let you go
