Rick\'s Life

by I am Michelle   Nov 22, 2005

It was a bright, blue, sunny afternoon
People were happy and couldn\'t help singing their own tune
They were brainwashed and couldn\'t see one bad thing
They were too bust having fun to hear the sirens ring

But there was one little boy who couldn't even see the sky
He sat in a red puddle wishing he didn't have say goodbye
The world seem to overpower him in his parent\'s small living room
He had experienced a lot in one day, too much to consume

His name was Rick and he was ten years old
He was smart with good grades and he was string and bold
Rick wanted to be a pilot and his parents were going to help
He wanted to feel the extreme where he couldn\'t even yelp

Now Rick\'s parent couldn\'t help him fulfill his dreams
His dad couldn\'t teach him how to shave with those weird creams
His mom couldn\'t teach him how to bake, not even a pie
Because someone thought that they both should die

He stood up realizing he should call 9-1-1
His heart ached and apart of him told him to run
But he knew better and staid for the police
He hid under the kitchen table wrapped up in his fleece

Shaking miserably he heard the police run inside
They ran straight to the crime scene and saw the people who died
The police instantly brought Rick outside and into a police car
They knew that what he saw was always going to be a scar

Social services tried to find a family member where Rick could stay
He didn't have any aunts, uncles and his grandparents did want him this day
Rick went into foster care where he became a problem child
He was label unadoptable and that was what was filed

He blamed the world for the reason why his parents died
He had very late nights where he only sat in his bed and cried
But one day an older couple came to his group home
The happily told him to pack up all of his stuff, even his comb

They were sure they were going to adopt this little boy
Rick knew they were just going to treat him like a toy
Within the first week Rick did the same stuff with them
He threw their furniture and even spit phlegm

They punished them like he was their son
He knew that they soon would realize he wasn't any fun
They'd bring him back to social services then leave
He didn't have hope and didn't even try to believe

But they never gave up on him in the least bit
They just kept punishing him when he through a fit
Finally one day they officially adopted Rick
He didn't understand why he was their pick

Rick still misbehaved all the way to high school
When some kid picked on him then started a duel
It was fists and legs that went down in this fight
Rick got punched in the face and lost his sight

That afternoon he went home with the intentions to die
He couldn't take life so he was going to commit suicide
He went back to his biological parent's house with a gun
He wanted to be with them, he was their only son

He sat down on the living room floor; he could see some dried blood
His memory flashed back to his parents as his eyes flood
So he quickly put the gun in his mouth wanting to make it fast
But soon his new mom was there, how much time had past?

â?? Richard, don't do this baby, you're better then this,"
His mom said but he just curled his other hand in a fist
" I know you're blaming yourself but this isn't the way to solve it
I bet your real parents wouldn't want you to go in this fit."

Rick lowered the gun and put it on the floor
He started to cry hysterically his heart just started to poor
He didn't know when his mom got on her knees with him
But when she wrapped her arms around him life suddenly so dim

He apologized over and over again for everything he had done
She said she forgave him because she thought he truly was her son
They got up and went back to their home together
Rick decided he was going to be nice to her and be better

Rick grew up to be a pilot just like he wanted to be
He only wished his real parents could see
He accomplished so much and was like he was when he was ten
Now he couldn't wait to see what is around the ben
