A Lesson

by lilyumi   Nov 25, 2005

I learned a lesson a few days ago
From somebody I know
A lesson that almost caused him his life
This is definitely not a lie

Against his mum he went
Standing up for what's right
But two blades came instead
The touch of the steel at the
neck was tight

Silence he bared as
she threatens
For he is now looking at another direction
Faces of family and friends appeared
in his mind
For that he told himself
"I shall not die!"

Patience and tolerance he gave
Soon gone was the bloody blade
Uncertain of his safety
So out of the house he went
and saved from the grave

Miles away from home he was sent
Leaving his dear siblings behind
As the fate for them could be death
A miracle to bless them would be divine

The event was passed to me
through a call
A voice of sorrow and fear
told me all
It scarred my heart to know
that he was crying as he shared
The tears of the tainted heart
was tempted to shed

From that second on wards
A lesson was taught
A lesson that will push
the tainted heart forward
And attempting death will
not linger in thoughts

For life is worth living
for love
The love of oneself to
their loved ones
May it be a friend, a family or a pet
Life is still worth living!
