I Guess We'll Wait Forever

by Anthony   Nov 25, 2005

Of all the things you've done,
And what you always do,
The worst thing was,
The pain you put me through.

I waited for your love,
I waited for your eyes,
You waited for my acceptance,
Of the apologies for your lies.

You were wrong in all your words,
All the hurtful things to start.
The only thing I did wrong,
Was give you access to my heart.

I realize who you are,
And that you cannot change.
Your apologies are empty,
Humanity is out of range.

Don't look at me like you love me,
Like you ever did or will.
That look always was a lie,
And it remains a lie still.

I'm still waiting for the truth,
Like you wait to be forgiven,
But we can't get what we want.
This score will never be even.

I've done all that I can do,
There's no more of me to give.
The only thing left to do,
Is continue to try to live.

If we wait for each other,
Who will come to who?
The only answer is that,
I refuse to come to you.

    Anthony ,
So much emotion put into this piece .
I think the part that really stood out for me was :

You were wrong in all your words,
All the hurtful things to start.
The only thing I did wrong,
Was give you access to my heart.

Your expression of your feelings in this stanza tells so much in a few lines .
