Waiting

by Rich   Nov 27, 2005

I'm a slave to your love it's plain to see
I cherished my freedom until you found me
You saved me from loneliness you saved me from doubt
You saved me from myself and I'll never be without

I remember the first time we ever met
My heart jumped hard and my hands got wet
My voice cracked softly as I tried to speak
My head was light and my knees got weak

Our love grew stronger each and every day
And then came that night in early May
We hopped on my bike and were out of sight
You pressed your body against me and held me tight

Gently in the meadows and down by the stream
Where we first made love and let our heart dream
I picked for you wild flowers and gazed at your face
Your memory and love cannot be erased

Our lives are so different but our love does remain
I pray for your return and that nothing will change
Your gone for a season and out of my sight
But you're still in my heart where I'm holding you tight
