Untitled for now

**Poem dated February 28, 2005**

I call myself a poet
I play with rhythms and words
The building blocks of language
I use to create masterpieces
Of words down on paper
Of feelings in my head
I choose to live in the poetic world
It's how I like to think
Writing thoughts in verse
So much prettier than prose
So much more effective
So much more meaning
Love and hate and war and peace
Verses about them one and all
I love to write them down
So they flow nicely and sound pretty
Calm and rhythmic like a river
Flowing gently through the woods
Not everyone can do this like me
Ability to write in rhythm
I thank the lord God up above
For giving me ability
To realize the beauty in the written word
To realize how to use it
I call myself a poet
The one skill I lend my pride
Words are my passion
And no matter what
My thoughts will always seem rhythmic and sweet
As they are in all of my poems.

**I wrote this because I wanted to write and I ddid't have anything to write about...a poem about poetry, go figure. I never really liked this one but I guess I DID write it, so I thought I'd put it up.**
