The Wanderer

by Hades   Nov 29, 2005

Alone I walk this empty land,
The world of setting sun
And though I'll look forever
I'll stay the only one.

The sand has turned to smoldering ash
It scorches to the bone.
I reached out, but no one helped,
Again, I stand alone.

All that may have saved me,
Has come now far too late
God took his holy hand from me
He's left me to my fate

The sun has set upon me,
The mountains drown its rays
The shadows all are hiding
In a sea of endless haze.

The warmth of day has faded,
The love of heaven's light,
I find myself a wanderer,
Within eternal night.
