Mist of misery

by master of shadow   Nov 30, 2005

The swirling mist,
the unending fog,
sweeping over the landscape,
freezing all it touches,
descending upon the vulnerable,
filling them with cold hopelessness,
clouding vision,
the mist of misery,
covering all,
engulfing them,
removing all life,
all hope,
all happiness,
freezing them within,
reaching down to their soul,
this unending cloud,
the swirling mist,
descending like a dark veil,
suffocating all,
and sparing none,
an impenetrable blanket,
impossible to escape,
pointless to try,
it will get us all,
one by one,
its futile to resist,
it is coming,
we are all doomed.

I like the flow but the ending was a little bit cliched, good one though, nice images.

I could feel a heavy mass of despair hanging over me while reading this poem. Your poems are those whereby the readers can relate to, I know I can feel that it's written straight from the heart. It's filled with such horrible emotions none can ever escape. I feel like I've taken a ride through your mind. Very dark indeed..

The words were well but something was lacking. It was good flow off near the middle but still good.
