Spots

by EpithetPoet   Dec 9, 2005

You never saw them come and go
Their words so sweet and innocent
You only dwelled on the bitter stings
And forgot what they truly meant

Your skin has fully grown over
Yet your heart still readily bleeds
And even though i say i love you
I dont think that's what you need

You need to look away from the hate
Cast your cheek to the dark
But embrace your true nature
Only then will you make your mark

So dont change your spots child
For without them you'd be the same
Just a part of the bitter stings
With none of your true beauty to remain
