Magic in the Mistletoe

by *Chels & Britt*   Dec 9, 2005

Yesterday was the day of Christmas Eve
I watched families decorate Christmas trees
I watched people hang lights and pretty wreaths
Then there sat little lonely me

Waiting to see someone I'd know
Staring at the door with the mistletoe
Wishing I just had someone to love me so
To wine me, dine me, and never let me go

I stared out the window and watched snow fall down
Watched it make its way to the peaceful ground
The members of this coffee shop was my only sound
I kept ordering another cup round after round

Waiting for that special someone to come in
I only want a love, is that such a sin?
A single tear rolls silently to my chin
Holding back more tears, crying within

He stomped off his boots and walked in the door
All of a sudden my tears fell no more
I looked at him and couldn't help but explore
I knew for this man, I would adore

Is he my happiness, can it be true?
Could my Christmas present be someone new?
Sitting here thinking, drinking my brew
I attempted for his attention, tried giving him a clue

I tried to accidently drop my phone
To get him to look at me and see I was alone
He picked it up to make his presence known
I thought I would faint after smelling his sweet cologne

He sat my phone on the table, staring into my eyes
This was the man who could silence my cries
Knowing with him, I could never tell lies..
I sat down my coffee, and whispered a soft "hi"

We began to talk about anything that came to mind
I couldn't get my eyes off him while his smile shined
I loved how this man was designed
Oh his voice was reassuring and his laugh was so kind

Then the time came where we had to part
Both of us wishing we could go back to the start
The moment was like a perfect scenery of art
The magic filling up my soul, and my heart

We walked to the door where I grabbed my coat
A candle light dinner I wished he'd promote
I wasn't sure what to say or even quote
Saying goodbye made my soul float

With his hand on the door, he gave me a smile
He certainly made this coffee trip worthwhile
Not knowing a kiss right away was my style
He went for a kiss on the cheek, from my lips a mile

I never thought this would be how I'd fall in love
Taking a glance, I saw that mistletoe above
Here was my chance, I gave myself a shove
Kissing his lips, my heart soaring like a dove

When he left I felt like I was losing my bodyguard
In my pocket I felt a little business card
He put it in there with his number and wrote kind regards
Underneath that mistletoe, I knew I fell hard
