Behind those Teardrops

by Emily   Dec 10, 2005

Wishing for some sunshine
The clouds are still so gray
I don't know why I notice you
On such a debilitating day

When your teardrops start to fall
You wipe them away, feeling shame
But I want to run and catch them all
And feel the essence of your pain

I want you to know your beauty
And know you're so much more
Maybe if I showed you your worth
I can save you from the floor

There's nothing more I'd like
Then to carry the burden of your sins
Just please don't keep it locked up
Open the doors and let me in

I wish you'd feel safer
And not so insecure
Let me hold you in my arms
And I can find the cure

Don't just walk away from me
I see right through your smile
Let me heal your impure soul
The effort is worthwhile

You can't turn things so simple
And ignore all your scars
Your pain is not just pain
And stars are not just stars

There is so much more to those tears
So much more I want to know
Let me heal all your wounds
Let your true soul show

I wish a guy could write something like this for me. Girls, be honest with me,

Just once, wouldn't you like a guy to ask you to tell the truth when you say you're okay?

Wow. What a sweet poem. This person is very lucky to have someone like you. And the paper is very lucky to have someone to write such a beautiful poem on it. Or the computer screen... anway...

very well done. I'm impressed. Excellent.
