Just A Girl

by Kelly   Dec 11, 2005

She looks into the mirror,
and sees an unknown face,
she doesn't know who this person is,
and can't seem to find a trace

The person that she used to be,
is just no longer there,
she left that person far behind,
when she learned that life's not fair

She reaches up her hand,
and brushes against her cheek,
revealing the cut marks on her arm,
she made when she felt weak

Her eyes are filled with pain,
they have no tears left to cry,
after constant nights of depression,
they have been left completely dry

She doesn't know how she can go on
nobody understands her pain,
her heart begins to beat faster,
as thoughts of suicide fill her brain

Her years of endless suffering,
are about to come to an end,
this nightmare that she is living,
her heart can never mend

Now she holds a gun in her hand,
and slowly brings it to her head,
soon she will be free of pain,
her body will soon be dead

Flashbacks of her childhood,
slowly enter her mind,
she used to be so happy then,
that comfort she will never again find

Her finger pulls the trigger,
and she falls silently to the floor,
her heart beats are becoming slower,
soon they will be no more

Her broken heart is finally free,
she will no longer be sad,
she quickly says a silent prayer,
for everything she had
