Sheltered

Let me go
Set me free
Let me go find out
What life has planned for me
You have me trapped
In a room that is dark
No room to breathe
Nothing to see
Let me find out for myself
What is right and what is wrong
No worries though
No matter what
I am your little girl Mom
But I need to expierence life
All on my own
You don't need to guard me
Please Mom
Just let me go find out and see
If I would make a mistake
I will learn from it
Just make this a risk
That you are going to take
Just please Mom
Let me go
Set me free
Let me go find out
What life has planned for me

Loved the gentle sentiment expressed. It is really difficult to accept childre need freedom and the way you express this is so sweet. It would have been really easy to use a more aggressive stance. Well done.

Good work, I can really relate to this poem, my mom always seems to guard me from everything else in the world, and she just needs to let go a bit.

Another excellent poem! I know how you feel. I feel the same way about my mom. She is SO overprotective!
