Winter's Victory

by Shane   Dec 14, 2005

A cold bitter air sets in
And eats away the heart
Cutting all the joys of spring
Right before they start
Now I know winter comes after spring
Create and then destroy
But this year its a different thing
To a cold ambitious boy
Are all these silly, failed attempts
Endearing to your cause?
While I try to move ahead
All I do is pause
Are these frozen shackles all I have,
In binding me to you
I forfeit this loving match
And you haven't had a clue
Silence signs that treaty
As I withdraw my voice
Only willing to comply
Even with a choice
My lips are left
Longing for your kiss
But it seems all I have
Is frozen reminisce
And spring bids farewell
Without a rightful reason
I've lost my chance with you
As winter gains the season
