And I Woke Up

I wanted to be brilliant,
To catch your pretty eye.
My clothes looking nice,
My hair full of blue dye.

Then I saw him with you,
And my dreams broke at my feet.
Now before I got to move,
I had to just retreat.

My confidence was gone,
It was time to face the truth,
I went back home to sulk,
I thought I'd never be with you.

Now here we are.
Hand in hand and face to face.
The worries of my heart,
Blown away and put in place.

I never knew this feeling.
This sensation that excites.
Lying in a Field with you,
Underneath the starry lights.

I look at you, you look at me,
We both look away.
I look back and you are gone,
You were never there to stay.

And I Woke Up...

    Anthony... Brilliant poem! A nice dream, such a shame it wasn't true. I liked the flow. I especially liked the way that you took me from believing your hope had gone to having everything you desired right in front of you. Then it slipped off a slidey cliff and you were sad again. I'm sure you will get what you want, anyone would be silly not to right ??! :)
