Spare the Child!

by Holly Nicole Williams   Dec 16, 2005

Mommy, please don't let them do this to me
Mommy, please don't let them hurt me and make me bleed.

Mommy, do these people not want me to be born?
Mommy, what did I do to deserve that my little body be broken up and torn?

Mommy, how come noone loves me?
Mommy, it's so dark.
I can't see.

Mommy, there's so much that I would like to grow up and do
I would like to be a Teacher or an Astronaut
And take a walk on the moon!

I'd like to grow up and help children learn to read and write
Maybe even a Doctor who finds the cure for Aids
Would that be alright?

If I'm a boy
I'll go fishing with daddy
I'll learn to throw a ball
And boy won't he be happy!

If I'm a girl
I plan on having a tea party
I'll have a place set for you
A place set for me and a place set for my dolly!

Mommy, why are they wrenching me away from you?
Not only that...
They're even breaking and tearing my little body in two.

Mommy, this hurts so bad
Mommy, why do I have to die?
I thought I'd get the chance to be born
I guess I'll never get a chance at life.

If I was only given the chance...
There's so many things that I would have like to have done and said
But, i guess I'll just have to settle for being an Angel instead.
