The Brook

by Beautiful~*~Dragons~*~Fire   Dec 20, 2005

I gurgle and burble peacefully
As a doe and young fawn drink.
I am shaded by weeping willow tree
And bordered by orchid pink.

Rainbow trout and traveling salmon
Food for the wandering bear.
Through a meadow I run
A drink for a thirsty hare.

I glide over smooth stone
Through a forest deep.
On my bank a fallen pine cone
Food for a squirrels sleep.

Over a small water fall
My waters small but astounding.
I passed oak and pine tree tall
To end at a river winding.
