Winter Storm

by Rich   Dec 21, 2005

Winding down the treacherous path
Deep inside the mountain full of wrath
The clouds are menacing, the wind is cold
My eyes water and it begins to snow

I fight for air and my lungs start to burn
I no longer know which way to turn
My feet are numb, my mind confused
My body is tired and feels abused

I want to rest I need to sleep
But I plow through the snow thick and deep
I've lost my way, where do I go
My mind is drifting and I start to slow

Maybe I can climb up to the crest
Or maybe I should lay down and finally rest
I fight my way but then give in
I know that winter just might win

Just a moment is all I need
Why didn't I listen to the wise man's heed
I fall to my knees then to a heap
I lay down to rest to forever sleep
