Under The Smoke

by Kelly   Dec 21, 2005

Under the smoke, and under the shame.
A little girl hides ignoring the pain.
There was a fight and I ran away.
Now he\'s getting married in a couple of days.
I sit on my bed and try not to cry.
But all I can do is ask myself why.
Light the joint, take a toke.
Bury it all under the smoke.
It\'s okay, it\'ll all be fine.
Wash it away with a bottle of wine.
Now I\'m lost in a world that I don\'t understand.
Living a life that I can\'t comprehend. Wishing and waiting and wanting your touch.
Hoping and longing and thinking too much.
Where did it go? That life I used to know.
What the hell happened to me!?
Where\'s the girl I used to be!?
Light the joint, take a toke.
Bury it all under the smoke.
It\'s okay, it\'ll all be fine.
We\'ll wash it away with a bottle of wine.
I sit here and contemplate,
all my pain these days.
He sits there and buries,
his pain in a cocaine haze.
I tried to understand...
But reality and dreams...
Just don\'t go hand in hand.
It seems like all the doors have closed,
And there aren\'t any windows.
It\'s okay it\'ll all be fine we\'ll wash it away with a bottle of wine.
So light the joint, take a toke.
Bury it all under the smoke.
It\'s okay, it\'ll all be fine,
I\'ll wash it away with a bottle of wine.
Cause under the smoke...
and under the shame
A little girl hides...
ignoring...
the pain.
