Emotion and Devotion

by McCall   Dec 22, 2005

You walked past me today
And I half expected a hello
But you walked by
Like you didn't know
It is hard to think
We had been so close
To tear it apart
While it meant the most
Tragic memories and dramatic past
pulled us into a state of denial
I couldn't have remembered
Anything but your fake smile
A grin so wide to fool
Anyone stupid to find it true
And would fall in a laiden trap
Of entanglement of all subdued
It was a moment of weakness
A vulnerable time-share
With un-noted backstabs
Acting like you cared.
