A Beast That Isnt Real (new format)

by Russell   Dec 22, 2005

A velvet feel of something out of reach
A darkness so bright
A dark place stained with bleach
Something in the distance, but will you stay and fight?

A beast that isn't real
a veil you must look through
but in time it will reveal
to see it has always been you

Something that is within you
To reveal a past time
But is slowly bleeds through
when you were a victim of a crime

You slowly cut yourself apart
This is something that wont go away
and you've known from the start
That you have to deal with it everyday

***thank you Jason Meres....for the new format suggestion**

I like your word usage and symbolism here, but I was reading over it and had an idea, keep in mind it is only an idea and can be no mind if it is displeasing. However, I read through once then went back and switched it in my head from an AABB scheme, to an ABAB. Allow me to illustrate with your final line...

    You slowly cut yourself apart.
This is something that wont go away.
And you've known from the very start,
That you have to deal with it everyday

Again, just a thought. However, well done.
