Serenity of the Broken Mind

by Russell   Jul 24, 2006

A broken empire lays in ruin
Darkness covers the sky
Countless dead lay in the tomb
Of your forsaken mind

Blood flows through the field
Screams echo over the land
Hell created through weapons
Controlled by man

The smell of death feels the air
While the king drinks their blood
When he let loose his troops like water
The world was consumed by flood

While death rides out on call
God counts the souls
As the number goes up
Man realizes the heavy toll

War can not be fought
any longer here
Peace must be put in place
to stop the violence and the tears

*My favorite stanza....Wow...this was so vivid and creepy. I love the imagery...it's flawless and you use it well. It's not overused or too forced or anything. I love how clearly you express yourself. This was a very nicely crafted poem. Keep it up hun. Nik*
