My Words {Of Pain}

by Jolene   Dec 23, 2005

Dishes and drawers slamming,
Footsteps heavily pounding,
Is this It?
Are we through?
Because I know I can't live with out you.

It won't be Christmas if you fight,
I am trying to keep this family tight.
I know I'm not perfect,
But I do try.

I want to be happy again,
I want us all to be friends.
I want the old days to come back,
I want to get our life back on track.

It's hard being a child,
With dreams so incredibly wild.
When no one listens to you,
It makes you feel as if you've been beaten up and bruised.

I hear the car,
Pull out of the driveway.
I just hope when you come back,
Everything will be safe.

I cry and I cry,
Hoping we'll make it alive.
Instead of yelling,
Talk it through,
Because remember,
I believe in you.

Next time you turn me out,
Think if this poem,
Have no doubt.
I am human,
And even though,
This is a voice of a child,
It is strong and true.
And remember,
People should listen to my words too.
