Cannot Stand To Look Anymore

by Ana   Dec 23, 2005

The tears are streaming down your face
The effects of the past you cannot replace.
You are so angry and you no longer care
It kills me to see you broken, life is not fair.
When you keep on giving and get nothing in return
It wont take long for you to learn
That the vulnerability and selflessness that you used to hide
Will turn into guilt and it will tear you up inside.
And this remorse can be painful, but it can hurt so good
Please know that someone is by your side, you are understood.
And when it seems like your world is just about to fall
You can look at the murky sky and realize it was not the ache at all
That caused forced smiles and your colors to blend
Caused this foreign bitterness to begin.
Powerless to these tears
Hiding from the familiar fears
Struggling to keep the darkness from taking your hand
Forced to keep this plastic life from sinking into the sand.
I promise I willnot suffer from this fate
Even though it might seem to be too late
When I see your eyes staring into empty space
I see the tears streaming down your face.
I do not think I can stand to look anymore.
