Spark / Funk

Spark

Don't look for an antidote.
Keep your heart tucked in and
Wear longer sleeves
Until the shock subsides.
It's a temporary state of mind
And here's the kicker:
It's a bottomless pit.
Once you've gone down
It's deja vu.
Can't stop the love.

Funk

Can't stop the heartbreak.
It's deja vu
Once you've gone down,
It's a bottomless pit.
And here's the kicker:
It's a temporary state of mind
Until the shock subsides.
Wear longer sleeves,
Keep your heart tucked in and
Don't look for an antidote.

I've always been intrigued by poems like these, and I'm narrowly keeping back my jealousy at the fact that you've made it so that it makes complete sense and is really fun to read. I like it so much, it distracts me from making hopeless lit program comments...GAH!! Ms. Lenny, this is a heckuva poem!

About your question...well, you see, I had a random inspiration the other day for a medieval-like chant/song thing, and I got the music down as soon as I could before forgetting it. It's for four vocal parts-- a soprano, an alto, a tenor, and a bass...and I randomly decided that I wanted to write the lyrics...welcome to my life.
