Walking in the Rain

by sweet surprise   Dec 25, 2005

Rain pounds on the sidewalk
Wind whispers through her hair
Tears slide down her cheeks
As she walks with her despair

He used to be in love with her
But not anymore
He tore out her heart
And threw it on the floor

So she walks in the rain
Wishing she had a heart
Whispering his name
Mending each broken part

Her soul is tormented
Thoughts of suicide fill her head
Razors go across her wrists
She'd rather be dead

She hides in the dark
Wiping away her tears
Cutting deeper
To calm her fears

Silently she cries out for help
With each slice across her wrist
All she need is love
Why can't anyone see thsi?

I love your poem...it's so real...and you're not alone...i know what ti's like to have a broken heart...it feels like it will never end, but the pain goes away eventually...but never fear love. it's worth it every time.

Hey! Wow, that's a very sad poem and it made me almost cry. But why do all think of suicide and razors to cut oneself if they were abandoned of their boyfriends. I'm actually scared of the thoughts of young girls (or boys). I think that nobody is worthy of hurting oneself.

I'm sorry if there are too many mistakes. I'm from Austria and I don't speak English perfectly.
