Counting The Tears

The clock is ticking in my room
I wonder when it'll stop
With every passing second I'm dying
And I count the tears that drop.

One tear for the one I love
Who locked me in the dark
I called his name that I'm trying to forget
But it rings with every beat of my heart.

Two tears for my family
For falling to such disaster
I cry a bit harder as I can recall
The long desired laughter

Three tears for my pitiful reflection-
A shameful and shattered ghost.
A parasite that eats at me each day,
And I miss my heart the most.

Four tears for the nightmares
For dreams of cutting too deep,
Bleeding slowly, without you by my side,
But too scared to fall asleep.

Five tears for every cutter in the world
Who feels lost and afraid
I love you and I admire you, so don't let go,
Five tears for every scar you've made.

Six tears for knowing who I am.
I bet I hate myself far too much
For knowing that I've lied and hurt someone else
I cringe at my own touch.

Seven tears for my skin
And knowing what it hides,
Scars too deep that'll never heal
Seven tears for whats inside.

Eight unloving tears for everyone else
Who look and think they know
What I've been through and what makes me
And whoever sees me as too low.

Nine tears for the ending I crave
And for opening up my eyes,
For the fear that enters and never leaves
As I'm staring at a girl who cries.

And TEN tears for every girl like me
Who waits for time to stop.
Ten tears for every moment I've spent, dying
