The smell of you

by BrokenMemoriex   Dec 31, 2005

The scent you have around you
The one I used to smell
That scent told me it was you
I knew it oh so well

I remember ever loving that scent
The most exquisite luring fragrance
My heart couldn't stop pounding
And my stomach always churns

Whenever I feel lonely
Whenever I need you
Catching the scent tells me you are near
Drives away the blues

When we are side by side
I smell your smell again
It is so much sweeter
Than the smell of rain

It's been a long long time
Since I last smelled your trace
I never seem to find it
In our special place

Alas it has been so long
That scent I gradually forgot
But my heart still holds on to
Three words - forget you not

Guess what, I just caught a whiff
That familiar smell came wafting back
I'm surprised I could still recognize
That scent around your neck

The smell I haven't smelt for ages
Now I smell again
I don't seem to love it anymore
I choke back in disdain

It no longer has that effect on me
I'm void of feelings of love
That smell hasn't changed at all
But now it gets on my nerves

I'm afraid I'm over you
You left long ago
I'm afraid I've forgotten you
From head ... to toe
