The loss

by Tom King   Jan 1, 2004

The thought of you
By my side, was so very true
If I had known your heart was mine
And my heart was yours
It would have changed my life forever
My heart may go to another
It will always belong to her
The day she said we can be no more
My heart fell into pieces
If all the tears was caught
It would stop a drought
What was once so very true
Is it her voice
That I still hear in my head
As she whispered those words
I love you
Is it her smell
That was once on my bed
Or was it the touch
from one heart to another
That is no longer there
Was it the sight
Of her next to me
That was there when I awoke
When does the pain stop
It may never
But will go deep inside to hide forever
As it may show when she is around
No one will see the deep sorrow
When love comes
It comes so slow
To keep the burning lights lit with a glow
Was it a dream I had
Just the other night
That when I awoke
It was a fright
To see you no longer there
In my arms where you should be
To feel the soft touch of her lips
Or those preciouse words
That meant so much
To know that I will never
See, hear or feel her again
If i had one last wish
The wish i would make
Is to stop time
The moment we last touched
To have and to hold forever
As it is all a dream
Or a memory that will burn
throught my heart
To know that I lost
What was so once true
