A Rainy Day

by StormShadow   Jan 3, 2006

In a November afternoon
The skies heave with somber clouds
Slowly opening with heavy rain
As it falls atop the trees
The wind lashes at branches
Showering streets with wet autumn leaves
Golden brown, yellow, and shades of red
Drab pavements enriched with colour
People hurry past, under
The falling rain
Which soothingly taps
At the window panes
Easing one into tranquility
In the cozy confines of home
Giving time for thoughtful reflections
There's something special about the rain
Something nice and soothing
