Football (Soccer)

by StormShadow   Jan 26, 2006

Football in the park
Such happy times they were
Left wing, right, and down the center too
We rushed at teams as if the Brazil of old

Last in goal the shouts went out
With an unhappy look the keeper donned his gloves
The defenders took up positions
And the midfielders too

Mark your man
And watch the runs
Keep an eye on the ball
As you go in for the tackle

The playmakers start their runs
Diego Maradonas they felt in their hearts
A solo run through the enemy defence
Something to treasure forever

The strikers waited, like cheetahs after antelopes
For a sight of goal
The one-twos came
In the net the ball went flying into

High fives all around
Smiles lighting up the field
Quick, back to positions
And it all starts again
'The beautiful game'

Such happy times they were
Football in the Park
