Autumn Love

by StormShadow   Jan 3, 2006

In these dreamy days of autumn
Beneath misty grey skies
I feel the breeze on my face
And the winds of love caressing my heart

I take a walk following the path of a stream
Brown, green, red and yellow leaves painting the banks
A twinkle toed squirrel darts up a tree trunk
Such content I feel in this beautiful scene

I look up at the sky to see the sun shining through
I think back to the moment
When I first saw light
The night you came into my life

Over the months I grew to love you
How sweet it was to love
To be loved back so truly
God's gift to me

I think of you
Your rosy cheeks beneath the sinking sun
So beautiful, so innocent
A view to treasure, for the rest of my days

As the days become shorter
And frosty nights near
Our love becomes stronger
The promise of winter love heating the blood in my veins

I stroll deeper into the woods, for my rendezvous
Past wild fruit and nuts sprinkled on the grass
I spot you in the distance
In the center of a clearing

Sitting on a moving tapestry of leaves
I take my place beside you
And your hand in mine
Our lips touch softly

I close my eyes and loose myself
In the tranquility of your love
My autumn stroll
Ending up in haven
