Lucifer (Pantoum)

by DBM   Jan 3, 2006

I've pondered diligently on how it would feel
Seeing Lucifer mercifully standing there
The temperature rising, proving all to be real
My connection to this world beginning to tear

Seeing Lucifer mercifully standing there
His eyes reflecting my past transgressions
My connection to this world beginning to tear
I release my many meaningless possessions

His eyes reflecting my past transgressions
I observe his form, amazingly clear
I release my many meaningless possessions
My feet grounded firmly, I stand without fear

I observe his form, amazingly clear
Grinning, his fangs welcome me into his lair
My feet grounded firmly, I stand without fear
As pained echoes of agony fill the hostile air

Grinning, his fangs welcome me into his lair
The smell of sulfur suffocating and thick
As pained echoes of agony fill the hostile air
I relax as I sense my airways constrict

The smell of sulfur suffocating and thick
The temperature rising, proving all to be real
I relax as I sense my airways constrict
I've pondered diligently on how it would feel.
