A house of laughs

by Libby   Jan 4, 2006

A house of laughs
‘Smack’ a hit a blow.
A young boy watched
As he took away her soul

‘Boy come watch this,
Your mother lying on the floor
I will kick in her face
Till her flesh bleeds raw.’

‘I took you into my ‘ome
When your dad didn’t want you
I fed you and give you a bed
So I can do what I do’

It’s three in the morning
Dads pissed, he stumbled
Walking in our room
My hope has crumbled

‘You f**king runt
You breathe to loud
A kick in the face
Will do your brothers proud’

‘Come on boys
Watch the runt squirm
Boot him in the ‘ead
Only way he’ll learn’

A life of many mistakes
Has left him in denial
So now he protects
A man with mistakes so vile.

I have watched him cry
A life of tears
A rush of emotions
Of his past and fears

I held him as he bled
And cried as he broke
Tears him in side
Those words his ‘father’ spoke

I need to be his hero
To be there and to protect
To wipe away the scars
The life of pains affects

A wrecked spirit
In the body of support
He wipes away my tears
Nothing like I thought

A broken home
Makes broken people
Not him not him
He’s a beautiful example
Of hope, a true survivor.

To live through hell
To watch your life been beaten
Makes a broken man
From the way they treat him

He is not a broken boy
He is man with a heart
I will stay by his side
Till death do us part.
