The Coming Storm

by StormShadow   Jan 5, 2006

The shadow of the storm
Descends upon the earth
As clouds darken forebodingly
Above winds stronger then norm

Leaves and litter twirl in the wind
Weaving the stage for the coming storm
An eerie silence prevails with the shadow
In the land where moments ago the sun shined

The gathering fury of nature
Hangs menacingly in the air
In the outdoors
No sign of any creature

or children playing
The people take shelter
Doors and windows closed
No sound of birds singing

Lightning flashes
The wind blows intensely
And rain falls, to the beats of
The thunder as it crashes

The storm rages
Roofs and trees battered
By forces of nature
At last let out of their cages

Awsome Job! you did a great job with the images you used- it really makes the reader think and feel that they're caught in the storm. Keep up the good work!

This is excellent, i gave it 5/5. the imagery is really effective in building up tension, and then describing the scene of destruction. brilliant poem.
