Enchantment in an Envelope.

by Renee   Jan 6, 2006

Your letters, they litter the crisp white paper
stain my eyes until I've gone blind.
The words you say send me into a state...
a state of contemplation as I wait for some kind of miracle to happen.

False hopes bleed on parchment, disguised as blue ink.
Almost as majestic as you; but it could never compete.
And I hope your thoughts are as soft as the scent,
that you sprayed on the envelope that heaven sent.

There's no fowarding address, so I guess I'll just pray.
It's the quickest way to send my love to you anyway.
Tell God to relay the message word for word,
or at least convince him to send you to my world.

There's love letters in circulation,
and doves fluttering around my heart.
They tickle my temptations...
Oh, I think I'm directly in the way of cupid's dart.

HOLY MOLY!! I know I've said this a lot but I think this one is my favorite of yours. I say that every time you write a new one!

It's been a while since you posted a new poem so having this as your "come back" is just freaking amazing. This poem is definitely the shiz! You are an amazing writer! You have an imagination that just won't quit....I just read it again...looking for a favorite part or maybe advice I could offer...and nothing...I got nothing...lol It's perfect through and through.

I was confused though deary...I would really like for you to explain this...as I read I think of a loved one passing and you receiving a letter from him after he is gone or maybe just old letters...I don't know...but then the last stanza throws me off. Maybe I'm reading this ALL wrong....or maybe cupids dart is not a good thing in this particular piece...Coonay please tell me...lol You got my curiosity going crazy over here....
