Pain and Failure, His Life's Theme

by joey   Jan 7, 2006

As looks out over the broken past
His window fogs with the sighs of regret
Pieces of his dying heart lay out on the side
Left behind because he couldn't carry the burden
Of more pain and deeper isolation

Always he stands on the outside
Friends think they know, however,
Denying and deceiving it all into a well groomed image
He keeps to himself and shuts out help
Longing he looks to belong
But, so far, everywhere he has looked
Has been nothing more then wrong
Exactly parallel to the theme of his life

Silently he is fading into darkness
Discretely his pain is dragging him away
Failing to succeed his hopes are crushed into ashes
Scattered by the gentle wind of despair

Pushing the edge, he's downing a couple more
The more he pops the more he slips
It all fades and he thinks the pain is over
But his heart begins to beat again
And its this disappointment that is the worse

His life now stained by living in his own world
Nobody notices, Nobody understands, Nobody cares,
That he is faintly breathing in a separate world
Sustained by loneliness and defection
Where he stands alone and deserted
Destined to meet the reoccurring end of everything
Pain and Failure.
