I thought

by Sarah Christine   Jan 9, 2006

Thought I could forget you,

pretend you were never there,

erase that time of my life,

and go on without a care.

I thought that if I forgot you,

all the pain would go away,

'cause I knew that if I missed you,

the heartache would always stay.

I thought that if I hated you,

the hate would build up inside,

I wouldn't want to see you,

my feelings I could hide.

I thought that if I loved you,

you'd never want to leave,

you'd cherish me forever,

well, that's what I believed.

I thought that if I gave you

everything a person possibly could,

you'd never want to hurt me,

how was I to know you would?

I thought that if I forgave you,

you'd always be my friend,

another lie you told,

and so our story ends.

I guess I thought a lot about you,

but everything was so wrong,

I thought you were the one for me,

you knew I wasn't, all along.

Beautiful poem, but it would be more eye-catching if you organize it into 4 lines per stanza. =) Great job, keep it up!! Check out my poems if u like.
